Community Guidelines
At Bloopy, we believe social media should serve people, not metrics, bots, or manipulation. These Community Guidelines are designed to uphold the integrity of human discourse on our platform. These rules apply to all users and all public or semi-public areas of the platform (posts, comments, profiles, etc.). By using Bloopy, you agree to abide by these guidelines.
Productive Discourse
Posts and comments must contribute meaningfully to public discussion. We do not moderate based on political or ideological viewpoints. We do moderate content that is:
- Malicious or abusive
- Intentionally misleading
- Disruptive to platform integrity
- Broadly discriminatory or dehumanizing
Examples:
- ✔ Permitted: “XYZ political leader is a war criminal.”
- ✖ Prohibited: “XYZ political leader is a war criminal, as is typical for XYZ race.”
Commercial Content
Any promotional, commercial, or for-profit content (including unpaid self-promotion) must be clearly marked by enabling the Commercial Content toggle. Bloopy limits the volume of commercial content shown in user feeds. For formal advertising, use our ad platform at: https://ads.bloopi.org.
Automation and Manipulation
Automated content is prohibited except via the official Bloopy API, available only to verified paid users. Coordinated or deceptive activity, including botnets, troll farms, and astroturfing, is forbidden. No content may be posted by accounts operated by nation states or their agents, except:
- Verified political figureheads or government offices posting official communications with clear attribution.
Examples:
- ✖ Prohibited: A covert state-affiliated account posts political propaganda.
- ✔ Permitted: A verified account for “The White House” posts a policy update.
External and Linked Content
All content must be safe for users, including references or hyperlinks to third-party sites or services. Bloopy does not proactively vet third-party links, but we will remove or restrict any content proven to be malicious.
Comments
Comments must follow the same rules as posts and remain relevant to the thread or original post.
Examples:
- ✖ Prohibited: Commenting “Check out my new ebook!” on a post about iced coffee.
- ✔ Permitted: Commenting “I don't like coffee” on the same post.
Usernames and Profiles
Usernames and profiles must not:
- Contain discriminatory or abusive content
- Impersonate other individuals or organizations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
Direct Messages
Direct messages (DMs) are end-to-end encrypted and not subject to routine moderation. If a user reports a DM:
- The reporting user’s consent grants Bloopy the right to temporarily decrypt and review the reported thread.
This is necessary to verify authenticity and take appropriate enforcement action. We only take such action when the content:
- Violates U.S. law, or
- Threatens platform operations or user safety
Graphical and Multimedia Content
All media (images, video, GIFs) must comply with the same standards as text content. Manipulated, dangerous, or dehumanizing media is prohibited.
Enforcement and Changes
Bloopy reserves the right to update or modify these guidelines at any time. Material changes will be announced via official platform channels. Continued use of Bloopy constitutes agreement to the most recent version of these guidelines.
U.S. Jurisdiction and Law Enforcement
Bloopy may provide law enforcement with information about broadly abusive or illegal and dangerous activities occurring on the platform. This may include:
- Automated attacks against our services
- Manipulation attempts by foreign nation-states
- Attempting to use Bloopy to conduct illegal operations on our service
- Cybersecurity attacks or attempted attacks of our users or staff
- Data which may prevent imminent danger or significant harm
Bloopy takes your privacy seriously. As of June 10, 2025, we have not received any request by any government for user data, and have not been served a gag order. While we report dangerous content of our own initiative, all law enforcement requests must be served with a court order, or verification of imminent danger, in order for us to release information.
